May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. There was a moment of bipartisanship in the US Senate as they passed an anti-Asian Hate bill last week.
BiPartisan U.S. Senate Bill passed - In a small but significant step, the US Senate passed a bill to expedite the review of hate crimes at the Justice Department and provide support for local law enforcement in response to thousands of reported violent incidents in the past year. AAAJ- Chicago and other chapters are hosting bystander intervention training sessions throughout the month of May to combat the current rise in harassment and discrimination and to also proactively prepare for the future increase of hate incidents.
