On Thursday night's CAPS meeting, we discussed continued problems in the Bucktown Wicker Park zone with drivers leaving cars unattended and running while getting gas, delivering food, or going in to stores for purchases. Several more delivery and Uber vehicles have been stolen in both daylight and evening hours this month from simply being left running and unattended. Police will be posting flyers, posters and stickers at problem locations as reminders to shut off vehicles and remove keys when exiting.
Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi announced that his office has extended the property tax exemption application deadline for tax year 2020 to Friday, April 9, 2021. Read below for details
One Summer Chicago will start up again soon. The program will will run from July 5 to August 13 and will include remote and socially-distanced, in-person job and life-skills training for youth ages 14 to 24. The application deadline is Friday, June 11 at OneSummerChicago.org. More details are listed below.
Chicago is on track to open vaccines up to Chicagoans in Phase 1C which includes residents age 16-64 with underlying medical conditions and all remaining essential workers on Monday, March 29. At the same time, a surge in COVID cases within the 18-29 age group is causing concern for health officials.
