Since the start of COVID-19, cities across the U.S. have seen a sharp increase in instances of hostility and harassment directed at Chinese and other Asian communities related to COVID-19 stigma and misinformation. We need to help end this stigma and hate against the Asian American community and racism against all our communities of color. If you have faced harassment or discrimination in housing, at work, or in any public place, contact the Commission on Human Relations by calling 312-744-4111 or at the CCHR website. Also included below are links to our friends at Asian Americans Advancing Justice who are doing bystander intervention training for members of the public.
The spring air brings street sweeping and Chicago begins cleaning streets in two weeks. Please review the 32nd Ward Map, and schedule for your calendar. The full city schedule is found here.
Also in the weekly email is information on help for job seekers, Covid-19 vaccination updates, restaurant and business updated guidelines, and Kennedy Interstate at Montrose overpass construction/traffic/pedestrian alert for the entire weekend.
