Plans for Chicago to Fully Reopen Move Ahead

This week, the Mayor announced that there is a lot of optimism that the City of Chicago will be fully reopened by July 4th. Last week, the City launched Open Chicago which is an initiative to start reintroducing events and opening other public amenities and private venues that promote art, culture, and recreation safely. In addition, the City is working on more outdoor dining opportunities.

Some things you can expect to return are:

Night Out in the Parks

The Chicago Auto Show

Chicago In Tune

Hyde Park Jazz Festival

Old Town Art Fair

Open Chicago is possible because we've made significant progress in reversing the worrying rise in our COVID-19 metrics. As we continue to build upon this progress, capacity restrictions will continue to loosen across industries. You can find the latest guidelines at chicago.gov/reopening.
