SSAs are local, self-imposed tax districts intended to fund and facilitate expanded services and programs specialized to a district's unique needs beyond the scope of what the City can provide; West Lakeview is managed by SSA 27.
Some of the many important facets of West Lakeview managed by SSA 27 are:
Public-way maintenance and beautification
Holiday decorations
District marketing and advertising
Public art
Special events (such as the Lakeview Holiday Tree Lighting, Wake Up With Your Pup, and many more)
Security improvements
and much more!
SSA 27 is overseen by a board of commissioners made up of local business owners, business employees, and residents. Each SSA 27 Commissioner volunteers a few hours of their time each month to make crucial decisions to benefit West Lakeview, with those decisions being carried out by Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce.
